What the population of the Zartoshties is exactely in Iran ?

So sorry for the interruption. I found your email through the web. I was wondering what the population of the Zartoshties is exactely in Iran. I couldn't find that, but I though maybe you can help me I appreciate your help,

Dear Madam,

I thank you for the interest which you carry for the site fravahr.org.

There are not reliable statistics about the number of zoroastrians in Iran. According to different sources', the figures vary between 12000 and 25000, 12000 seems to be more correct.

It should be noted that before the invasion of Moghols at the 13th century, the majority of Iranians were still zoroastriens and Islam had conquered only large cities.
